ChildAid transforms the lives of children and young people in Belarus, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.
Working with local partners, ChildAid brings hope, relief and love to disadvantaged children and young people who are either orphans, living with disability or living in vulnerable families. We aim to maintain the family unit but where not possible give orphans the chance to lead fulfilling independent lives. Our work includes:
- Promoting fostering as an alternative to institutional care and supporting families who foster
- Teaching independent living skills to orphans
- Provision of foster family homes for orphans soon to leave institutional care
- Basic literacy, numeracy and cognitive teaching to those excluded from school due to their poor learning abilities
- Offering free rehabilitation therapies to disabled children
- Creating environment for educational and social inclusion of disabled children
- Respite care
- Supporting vulnerable families
